On the Wakasa Coast, in Naha City, these two 15 meters tall and 3 meters wide granite stone dragons emerge from the ground. It is the Dragon Pillar Monument, erected in 2016 to commemorate the friendship between Naha City and its sister city Fuzhou, in China.
Did you Know? Due to their strategical position in front of the sea, these pillars welcome visitors coming to Okinawa with cruise ships and from Naha International Airport. The fact that they gaze at the sea also represents a continuous prayer for peace.
