The Blue Cave, located in Cape Maeda, is the most famous diving and snorkeling spot in Okinawa. Without a surprise, it gets its name from the many shades of blue that the sunlight creates after entering in the cave and reflecting on the limestone bottom. When a visitor first enters the cave, it might appear a bit dark. As soon as the eyes will get used to the light, then the blue color will appear bright in front of the eyes. The water in Blue Cave is extremely clear, for a great visibility. Fish are kind of used to human presence and will not be afraid of swimming with the divers. Did you Know? The depht of the water is about 5 meters, and the fact that the water level stays around 10 meters from the ceiling of the cave will not give a suffocating feeling.
